project: play tents

DIY play tent tutorial
{made by Heather & Jodi}

Hello there! My friend Jodi and I wanted to make a couple of play tents for her girls so we looked up some fantastic tutorials and inspiration by bloggers who had made some play tents too. This is what we made - what do you think? We made a pretty purple one as well. Here was our inspiration:

Lawrence Girls: bookworm day + #DIY reading nook! - tent tutorial

Lindsay & Drew: A-frame pup tents - really cool!

2 Little Hooligans: kids play tent tutorial {updated} - the hula hoop kind

On One Hand: out of body, out of my mind - oh so cute tent

The Feminist Housewife: DIY play tent - a smaller version

Nine & Sixteen: handmade children's tent DIY - adorable!

I've been seeing these a lot and they are sooo cute! I was contemplating making one when I was re-doing my son's room but there's not much room so I had to go for a smaller one!

What child doesn't love to play in a tent? We gave our grandsons a tent for Christmas last year and they loved it. I still think, though, that some picnic blanket draped over the dining room chairs is the best tent!

These are great, Heather! And I guess very popular as RH is selling them as well.
Wish my little granddaughters lived close by - we'd make one together & I'd be right there inside with them! :)
Have a great weekend!

I love these play tents ...... although it stirs up memories of when my brothers and I were little and the crazy forts we used to build. They were terribly ugly and I applaud my mom for allowing us to keep them up for a day. Hence why these play tents are so great, the look fabulous and are practical.
