project: hypertufa

DIY hypertufa rock wall
{I made our hypertufa rock wall}

Hypertufa is faux rock that you can make with ingredients that you can find at your local garden store. There are many recipes and projects around too. Some of the more popular projects include: rock walls, planters, troughs, tabletops, garden ornaments, stepping stones, fountains and water features. I made our "rock wall" myself and was able to make it rather inexpensively. Although it is lightweight, it has held up well - it hasn't crumbled or cracked in either the hot or cold temperatures. Here are some ideas posted by bloggers, please click through to visit their posts and hypertufa recipes:

I love that rhubarb leaf - I've always wanted to try it. How long has your wall lasted in this damp climate?
