Candles are so easily customizable to suit your home décor and to fit in with the different Seasons, aren't they? In our house I like to add plant clippings to little vases and fill with water and then add a tea-light. Our property has many Holly trees and these quick and easy DIY candles make it very festive for sure! For other times of the year I've found some beautiful ideas for you to DIY your own candle, here they are:
A Night Owl: knock-off Pottery Barn birch candles - with patterned scrapbook paper
Shabbyfufu: mercury glass Mason jar for candles - tutorial
Eliza K Prints: tutorial: how to make an orange peel candle - that would smell great
Craft and Creativity: Bokåtervinning - recycling old books
Haute 31: DIY candle upgrade - with burlap and berries
Lebenslustiger: tea lights with washi tape - aren't they pretty?
Yours Truly, G: DIY doily tea light holders - using a glue stick

Heather...
I love candles - especially this time of year. That birch paper project looks awesome. I need to try that.
These are perfect for the holidays! Thank's for the inspiration.

Dear Heather, thanks so much for adding my washi tape tea lights to your post :))) Greetings from Germany, Anette
Thanks so much for adding my Orange Candle. Love all these ideas!
Always,
Eliza
Oh how darling! I'm not even a huge candle girl but I love all of these! Especially the birch paper!
I love all the different ideas you've gathered here, Heather! And I adore your simple but festive candle project: the holly and berries look so pretty like that!
Your floating votive candles are beautiful. The holly looks amazing!
So many pretty candles and displays but your holly display is my favorite!
So many fun ideas for candles~thanks for all the ideas!
What a great roundup! I can't wait to check these out - there are so many pretty projects!
Oooooh I love the mercury glass idea!!!! Sprigs of orchids are always lovely too ...... Except maybe not for Christmas
I love the little washi tape tea lights - the sky is the limit with this idea! Last year I did up a vase similar to yours, but the wick in my tea light wouldn't stay in the wax once it hit the water. I ended up putting duct tape on the bottom to hold them together, which worked okay. How about you? Did your tea lights stay in tact? I love your little vases - they are a great shape and size!
Great round up!! :)
Candles make a room so cozy. Such a great round-up of creative ones!
These are great Heather...I think yours may be my favorite!!! XO, Aimee
Dear Heather....thank you for adding my Mason jar candles to your blog post!
Cute, the lot of them. Thanks for sharing...
Cheers, Gee
Hi there, are your tea lights in a separate glass piece that allows them to float in the bigger glass bowl?
