Galvanizing: tips and tutorials to create this paint effect
{there's some heavy metal}

The galvanized metal look is hot in home décor. It's got a modern farmhouse feel mixed in with an industrial vibe. If you are looking to create this popular paint treatment on a project of your own, may I suggest having a peek at these tutorials to inspire you.

Here's what I found to DIY the galvanized paint effect

First, what do you get when you mix salt, ceiling paint and a dry brush? You get a galvanized paint treatment! There's a full tutorial over at Rustique Art, check it out!

Then I saw over at Southern Revivals the triple galvanized gooseneck vanity light fixture DIY for under $100 and it looks great!

Over at Green Willow Pond there is another galvanizing paint technique tutorial. It's a really good post on how she took her plain painted wall magazine rack to having the zinc - metal look on it!

If you are looking to age an already shiny metal piece, have a look at what Homeroad did with her patio planter (and it can withstand the weather too).

There is another good tutorial at Blissfully Ever After too using craft paints to create a galvanized metal texture, her barn stars turned out beautiful.
